Welcome to Earth Explore Adventures.  We're glad you're here!

Director Karl Van Amburg, Earth ExploreIf you're a parent like me, then you're always thinking about your kids.   You want them to learn all they can, grow socially, experience independence, and gain loads of confidence.  And along the way, have plenty of fun. In short, you want to provide the tools they will need, academically and socially, to succeed in an interconnected, global world.  And, of course, you want top value for your educational dollar.

If that's what you're looking for, then you've come to the right place.  Since our founding in 1995, Earth Explore's student programs have been about empowering young people to experience our extraordinary world hands-on.  About giving them access to amazing field science and cultural opportunities, and helping them gain knowledge, new interests and skills for the future.

What's the EE Difference? Students in Hawaii, Earth Explore

Our work, and our programs, are guided by the federally-recognized 501(c)(3) Earth Explore Foundation, a not for profit, mission-based educational organization.  That allows us unique access to the very finest educational partners, and also means we're accredited.  Participating students can earn academic credit at both the high school, and college levels while studying science, history and culture in real-world settings.  Those kind of opportunities make a big difference in future studies, and help our students stand out when applying to college.

We focus on the Future

Most parents agree that young people need safe, educationally enriching opportunities to learn, spread their wings, and gain confidence.  That is the very essence of the EE Experience.  We firmly believe our trips help young adults gain the skills they will need to navigate an increasingly complex world.

What kind of skills?  Just check out what our parents say.  We're proud that every year they tell us their sons and daughters make big gains in self confidence, independence and personal responsibility through the EE experience.   And learning comes too, of course.  Although we emphasize science, our Adventures are actually cross-disciplinary, combining science, history and cultural studies to provide an enriching, one of a kind educational experience. Students in Costa Rica, Monteverde, Earth Explore

How do we make the learning stick?

We have fun...everywhere we go.  On a given day our students might be spotting toucans and monkeys in Costa Rica's Monteverde Cloud Forest, watching whales feed in Alaska's Resurrection Bay, kayaking through California kelp beds in Monterey, rafting the Shoshone River in Wyoming, or hiking down into Kilauea Iki crater on the Big Island of Hawaii.  The common thread in all we do is curiosity...asking questions, trying new things, probing the unexpected, and gaining insights about the world and how it works.  The experience goes deep, engages all of the senses, and can spark new interests and new directions.

Teachers like us too

Our adventures offer outstanding opportunities for educators to expand their classrooms into the world.  Through Earth Explore, teachers can travel to exotic and beautiful locations, share in their students' exciting adventures, Students in Yosemite, Earth Exploreand even earn professional development credits of their own.  One thing's for sure.  Our teachers bring new techniques, energy and enthusiasm back with them in the fall.  Hear from recent Earth Explore teachers.

I invite you to take some time and look around this site.   If you have questions, drop me an email directly at karl@earthexplore.com, or give us a call toll free at 877-224-3623.  Any of our staff would love to tell you more about why we're passionate about getting kids learning in the outdoor classroom.
