The Earth Explore Foundation
Dedicated to Education, Enrichment, and Opportunity
The not for profit Earth Explore Foundation is vital to the success of our educational programs. The mission-based Foundation is charged with providing students and teachers with educationally enriching experiences in the outdoor classroom. As an official 501 (c) (3) educational organization, Foundation involvement allows Earth Explore to work with the world's finest outdoor science educators and institutions, and to provide young people and their teachers with unique access that insures our educational programs are truly one-of-a-kind. All contributions to the Foundation are used to support the participation of deserving students, and are tax exempt.
Through its access to world-class partnerships, the Foundation provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for young people to engage in real-world science and cultural learning with experts. Students gain an understanding of how the world works, an appreciation of their ownimpact upon it, and valuable skills and enhanced abilities that are an excellent platform for the future.
Academic Credit
The Foundation's programs get students excited about learning, by making them active participants. The interdisciplinary approach combines adventure with science, global studies and cultural interaction. All programs align with National Educational Standards, and can offer academic credit to students at both the high school, and college levels. This allows participating Earth Explore students to gain a competitive advantage when approaching later studies, including college. This continuing excellence in quality and academic content is part of the Earth Explore experience.

A Focus on the Future
Through Earth Explore Foundation programs, young people not only have opportunities to earn academic credit, but they also develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in our complex world. The Foundation supports inquiry-based learning, through which our participants build a solid platform to become active, passionate, and involved adults who contribute to the world around them.
Jill Dayton Scholarship Program, and Educational Honorariums
The Earth Explore Foundation offers partial tuition scholarships to deserving students each year through the Jill Dayton Scholarship Program. The program is named in honor of an outstanding Illinois educator whose contributions to Earth Explore as a Leader and field educator continue to inspire us. Contributions to the Earth Explore Foundation directly fund the participation of students who might otherwise not be able to take part in our programs.
The Foundation also sponsors a yearly Educational Honorarium program. This initiative awards a cash honorarium to recognize schools and teachers for their active support of enriching outdoor education opportunities for their students. Learn more.
World Class Partnerships
Involvement of the Earth Explore Foundation assures that our students and teachers have access to the world's finest outdoor educators and programs. The Foundation works cooperatively with our many partners and educational advisors to design the finest adventure learning curriculum available anywhere. Activities focus on the experiential study of science and human cultures, and are based upon national curriculum standards.
The Foundation actively supports programs that protect and preserve our natural world, and help connect young people to nature. Each year the Earth Explore Foundation chooses two main beneficiaries whose work furthers these goals.
