Your Role as Leader

Organizing a group of students

As an Earth Explore Leader you first decide on which Adventure you'd like to lead.  You then promote the program in your school, and provide interested students and their families with the information they need.  We provide everything, from PowerPoint presentations, to Adventure DVDs, classroom posters and other materials.  Using our educational materials, you prepare your students for travel in the spring, and decide how much you will include the sights and activities of the educational adventure into your lesson plans.

Sharing the World through Educational Travel

Although we provide experts at every venue, and a Travel Manager during the trip, you help your students enjoy their experience, and provide context to what they are learning.  Of course, if there is a particular subject in which you have specific expertise, let us know, and you can help teach it.  Otherwise, you are there for your students, and to enjoy and learn right along with them.

Fundraising and Academic Credit

Fundraising is an excellent way to make the trip affordable to more of your students.  We provide ideas and advice, and encourage your students to take part.  Besides helping to pay for the trip, fundraising teaches organization, communication and cooperation...skills that come in handy during travel.  On top of all that, students have the good feeling of contributing financially.  We have found that this increases the value of their educational travel experience.  Earth Explore provides complete fundraising materials on our website, and on a CD provided in the Leader Kit mailed to registered teachers.

All students enrolled in Earth Explore programs are eligible to earn academic credit at either the high school, or college levels.   The high school course is provided by the Pacific Studies Outreach Center, and the college course by Eastern Washington University.  More information is provided on our Academic Credit page.

Rewards.  Our Way of Saying Thanks

All teachers who register are enrolled in our rewards program.  This allows qualifying teachers to earn free places on the Adventure or a cash stipend to take along.
